Ed Morgan, president of Morgan Homes, started his business in 1996 after building three homes of his own and falling in love with his work. It is every man's dream to love the work he does, and so Morgan Homes was born. Ed's vision was simple: to build higher quality homes and still maintain a fair price. He never liked the idea of a buyer walking into a beautiful model home, falling in love with the design and the fancy features, only to find out while writing the sales contract that those beautiful features are actually costly upgrades which drive up the price of the house thousands of dollars more than expected. He wanted to be able to build homes he not only would be proud to put his name on, but also ones he would be proud to live in himself. This philosophy is what led to the creation of Morgan Homes' slogan:

What many builders call "standard features" are termed "standard upgrades" at Morgan Homes, because their "standards" are the equivalent of other's "upgrades." Ed's homes are always full brick, usually with stone accents, and many architectural details on the exterior. They feature hardwood floors throughout the main floor, smooth finish ceilings, wood trimmed windows, arched openings, ceramic tile in all baths, whirlpool tubs, very large decks (14 x 14), garage door opener, gas logs, and the list goes on. Morgan Homes is able to offer more features than other builders in their price range, because they are big enough to obtain discounts, yet small enough to offer a custom home with a personal touch.

With the reputation Morgan Homes has developed for building high quality homes with attention to details, Ed has been able to develop a growing custom home division completely from referrals with no active marketing. He is most proud of the fact that he is now building homes for a second time for many of his previous buyers. There is no greater compliment than having a customer so pleased with their first building experience that they want to build with the same company again.

Besides quality home building, Morgan Homes has boosted their reputation through their warranty service after the sale. When Ed Morgan saw the future of his business, he knew he never wanted to be a builder who has to duck away from his clients in shame, because their warranty issues have not been resolved. He wants his clients to feel secure in the fact that he backs up his work. The warranty service is one of the main reasons his customers have returned to build another home. As Ed Morgan has always said, "It is my family name on the sign, so I want to do work that my family and myself can be proud of."
